APSIT Skills Initiative

ICT Academy exchanged membership certificate with A.P. Shah Institute of Technology, Maharashtra on Monday,the 8th of July 2019, during the launch of APSIT Skills aninitiative of A. P. Shah Institute of Technology, Thane,inaugurated by Dr. M. P. Poonia, Vice Chairman of All IndiaCouncil for technical Education (AICTE), Dr. PratapsinhDesai, President, Indian Society for Technical education(ISTE), Shri Sandeep Acharya, Deputy Editor of Loksatta, Dr. C.S. Verma Regional Officer, AICTE WRO, Shri. Chirag Shah, Chairman, Parshvanath Charitable Trust and Dr.Uttam Kolekar, Principal, APSIT graced the occasion.

L Suresh Babu, General Manager, ICT Academy presented the certificate to Shri. Chiragbhau A. Shah, Founder, A. P. Shah Institute of Technology, Thane, Dr. Uttam D. Kolekar, Principal, A. P. Shah Institute of Technology, Thane, and Dr. Sameer S Nanivadekar, Dean - Admin in the presence of Dr. M.P. Poonia, Vice Chairman, All India Council for Technical Education india.

Under this membership A. P. Shah Institute of Technology, Maharashtra avails the benefits of Faculty Development Programs, access to ICT Academy Research Journals online, student skill training, corporate partnership programs, free software and access to educational content, Seminars at colleges, subsidized member fee for ICT Academy events, opportunity for member institutes’ students to participate in youth contests, conference collaboration, and awards and recognitions.

Before exchanging the certificate, Dr. Sameer Nanivadekar, the Coordinator, narrated the purpose behind the conception of skill centre stating the need for developing skills of budding engineers and re-skilling of the employed technocrats in the emerging fields of Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain, Big Data Analytics, Cloud Computing, Cyber Security, Internet of Things, Robotic Process Automation, Augmented and Virtual Reality as suggested by NASSCOM.

He further stated that it is a first-of-its-kind effort to provide training and international certification on futuristic technologies under one roof to cater to the needs of students and technocrats working in the region of Thane, Navi Mumbai and Mumbai.

In his inaugural address, Dr. M. P. Poonia stated that it is a need of the hour and praised the initiative of APSIT of collaboration with industry and proposed that AICTE will take the lead to make such facilities available to other institutes.

He further elaborated on the various schemes of AICTE that address the immediate concerns of technical education. Following the inaugural address, Dr. Pratapsinh Desai, the President of Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE) stated that APSIT skill is the only centre in India that has such a wide variety of courses under one roof.

The event was attended by various industry representatives from companies such as NVIDIA, Tesla Business, Dassault Systemes, Bently Institute India, Autodesk, Ansys software, Unity 3D, Blockchain Council, MSC Software Corporation, Ashnik Singapore, Siemens Industry Software, Primus Techsystem and Oracle Academy.
