Just Start

Every deed we do has to start somewhere. Big or small, special or a mundane task, we need a starting point. There is no right time to start something, we just have to start.

What do we start?

Start doing something that is close to your heart. Be it reading, writing, learning a new skill, starting a new role, moving to a new place, learning to cook, playing a sport we love, a hobby we missed doing, an idea that kept brewing in our minds for a really long time, you can add ‘n’ number of things to the list but the point is to start. There is no right time or perfect moment to start, be sure we will never find that anytime soon. So just start and it will turn out to be the perfect time for us. That is how it's always been.

When we carefully notice all the winners around us, they took the risk of starting to do something that was close to their heart. Leaving the comfort zone is never going to be easy, nobody said so but winners always say they took the risk of coming out of it to follow their passion and gradually gained their foothold. If you look closely, all their overnight successes took some time, meaning there is nothing called an overnight success - news flash!! All we have to do is to start, stay put without wavering and keep working on it without slacking, trust me, we will get to the place where we wanted to be.

Why do we start?

If we don't start, then who will? If you have a dream or a vision that you think will bring a breakthrough in a particular field, do the needed research and just start. Make sure the solutions that we are finding are not for just any random questions but the right ones. There will always be questions lying around but finding solutions for the question that is the need of the hour changes everything.

Starting to focus on our interests gives us a new sense of reasoning. It gives us the energy to push ourselves forward towards our goal. This new found energy makes us look at things differently. Our once monotonous life becomes cheerful. We will somehow find a path to pursue it. This teaches us hardwork, perseverance and self belief.

In fact, starting something from scratch gives us confidence that we can achieve anything when we set our mind to it. This also teaches us that the hardships we faced to prove our passion is worth all the challenges that came along because at the end of the day we stood for what we wanted to do and actually did something with it. That by itself is a winning moment.

How do we start?

As the saying goes, “Start where you are, use what you have, do what you can”. That first step really matters because it sets the tone for the rest of our journey.

It is really easy to start afresh from scratch and win all along with no setbacks and the success is certified - said nobody. It is always scary to start from the beginning. Leaving our comfort zone to divulge into a space with no prior experience but only hopes and dreams is of course scary. But you know what, we will always come out successfully. Because we decided to take that risk anyway knowing very well about the consequences.

You know what's the formula for winning? It is to start. Start with the right mindset and passion, start with the clear picture of where we are heading to and what we are focussing on, start with the open mind that we need to cross many hurdles along the way and that nothing is going to stop us, start with the clear picture that success doesn’t happen over night and that over night is many hardworking nights put together!!

Make it a point and be very clear about this that, when we start something new, we will fall and there’s no shame in that. What really needs to be done is every time we fall, we need to make sure to get back up, dust ourselves off and continue our journey with even more determination to finish.

The destination is closer than we think, the finish line is within our reach and for that all we need to do is stop thinking and start doing. The victories that are attained without much effort is short-lived and wont be remembered in the days to come, gradually it loses its value. But the ones we get through continued effort stays for generations. That tale will have its own value. So make up your mind, stop thinking and start doing.
