X Factor

Dear students starting on your college journey,

I want to share a personal story with you, one that I hope will inspire and motivate you as you begin this new chapter in your lives. During my 11th grade in my school, I received a "Best Student Award". Not only did I receive this honor once, but twice during my schooling, and even as the best outgoing student during my undergraduate years at Kongu Engineering College.

What made these awards truly special was the fact that I wasn't the school or class topper. I wasn't the star athlete, nor was I particularly exceptional in any cultural pursuits. However, there were certain X factors that played a significant role, combined with the grace of God. To this day, these X factors continue to shape my journey. While they may take various forms for each of us, I believe there are two key factors that can propel anyone towards success: hard work and consistency.

In a world that often celebrates conventional talents, I found myself focusing on my strengths - being diligent, going the extra mile, showing kindness, and lending a helping hand. I refused to give up easily, even when I lacked those so-called talents that were typically applauded. By harnessing my strengths, I carved out a unique identity for myself and made myself visible. Surprisingly, I started receiving recognition for my efforts, even though achieving such awards had never been a part of my dreams. These accolades served as tremend-ous encouragement, urging me to persist in pursuing what I excelled at.

Throughout my journey, I have been fortunate to receive more than 20 awards in both national and international arenas. These awards stand as an acknowledgment to the power of embracing one's strengths and working diligently. They were not mere tokens of achievement; they represented the acknowledgment of my unique contributions and efforts. Each award served as a reminder that success can be attained through unwavering dedication and a commitment to excellence.

Whenever my professor or head of department entrusted me with responsibilities, I made it my mission to complete the tasks to the best of my abilities, even if it meant sacrificing sleep and working through the night. I understood that excellence requires dedication and going above and beyond the call of duty.

Now, my dear friend, I want to pass on this valuable lesson to you. I urge you to discover your own X factor, the unique quality that sets you apart. use it and let it guide you towards a fulfilling life, extracting the very best from your college experience. Your X factor will help you forge genuine connections with like-minded individuals, creating a circle of friends who will support and uplift you throughout your college tenure and beyond.

Remember, success is not reserved solely for those who excel in traditional areas. It is within reach for each and every one of you, if you are willing to harness your strengths, work diligently, and remain consistent in your efforts. Believe in yourself and let your X factor shine brightly.

As you start on this exciting journey, may you find joy, inspiration, and tremendous growth. Your time in university holds immense potential for self-discovery and the realization of your dreams. Embrace it with open arms and let your X factor pave the way for a remarkable future.
